WE’RE INSPIRING TOMORROWS SO THE PANDEMIC GENERATION WON’T BECOME A LOST GENERATION

JOIN US

The United States has the highest income inequality of any G7 Nation. The wealth gap between the richest and poorest families has doubled in the last two decades. On top of that, the economic fallout from the COVID-19 crisis is having an outsized impact on young people.

To end the cycle of poverty, we need to act now and act together. That’s the mission of Junior Achievement of South Florida. With your involvement and financial support, we can reach more than 50,000 students each year with the workforce readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills. These skills are the keys to unlock the hope, opportunities and possibilities that will define the future of a generation – and the future of our community.

YOUR SUPPORT MAKES INSPIRING TOMORROWS POSSIBLE

Help us provide financial literacy
Right now, less than half of American adults have enough cash to cover a $400 emergency. Personal finance is not mandatory or even offered in some traditional education systems. Junior Achievement gives young people the tools to make sound financial decisions once they enter the workforce.

Give students hope
Nearly every year, 30 percent of students fail to complete high school. The dropout crisis in America’s educational system has a devastating impact on the future health of our local economy. The Junior Achievement pathways approach helps students connect life skills they learn throughout school to a lifetime of career and entrepreneurship possibilities.

Build skills for the future
By some estimates, 42 percent of jobs lost in the COVID-19 shutdown may never come back. Graduating students are inadequately prepared to contribute to our community’s success because they lack basic skills such as communication, problem-solving and critical thinking. The Junior Achievement curriculum helps provide these workforce readiness skills not taught in school.
