You can fill a need by being an expert mentor or share your “job story” interview style with a Junior Achievement Team Member. We would coordinate a date and time with you and ask the questions below while recording. If you would like to be interviewed, please email [email protected] or call (954) 979-7104.

I WANT TO BE A VIRTUAL MENTOR TO OUR STUDENTS

Junior Achievement of South Florida is seeking virtual volunteers to mentor our students. We have determined areas of need in elementary, middle and high school that we would like to match to experts in the community. Some examples include meeting a Chief Financial Officer, understanding how to manage money, and determining the economic implication of the current global situation.

I WANT TO BE A VIRTUAL JA CAREER SPEAKER

JA is also looking for virtual volunteers to share their “job story” or “personal journey”. Our goal is to provide students with a broadened spectrum of jobs in South Florida while also giving them guidancesupport, and perspective for their future journey into the workforce. This video library will also provide teachers with a free online resource, easy to assign and easy to access.

Career Speaker Series Questions:

  • What did you do after high school? Did you go straight to college and if so, did you major in the field you are currently in?
  • How and why did you decide to enter this career field? Was this your passion?
  • What does a typical day look like for you? Do you work M-F? Weekends?
  • What advice would you give to students interested in this career pathway?
  • What is your favorite part of what you do?
  • What should they concentrate on now to be successful in this Career?
