Board Member Commitment

Junior Achievement of South Florida can’t accomplish our mission without the support of our Board Members. We appreciate your dedication and ask that you please complete the sections to confirm your commitment for the year.

    Give/Get: Board members are expected to donate or secure financial support in a minimum of $5,000 in the form of:
    • Cash donations (including those secured via Peer-to-Peer Campaign)
    • Grant/Foundation Funding
    • Auction items donated (amount raised in auction not market value)
    • Storefront Sponsorships
    • Event/Program Sponsorships (event tickets are not included)
    • Corporate Donations
    • In-kind services/products required by JA

    Board members are expected to make a personal gift to JA. We encourage members to give at the Investor Circle level - $1,000.00 (payments can be spread out over the year).

  • Time Commitment

    • Board Meetings - Board members are expected to attend 6 board meetings each fiscal year. Attendance at first and last meetings of the year are strongly encouraged (August and June). No more than 2 meetings a year should be missed.
    • Board Member Orientations & Retreats - Board members are expected to attend all strategic planning/board orientations and retreats.
    • Volunteering - New board members will volunteer in JA BizTown or JA Career Discovery Park (approximately 6 hours) as part of their onboarding. Returning board members will volunteer at least 3 hours in any JA program annually.
    • Events - Board members are encouraged to attend JA fundraising events. In addition, it is encouraged that board members attend program events to support students.
    • Committees - Participate in at least one standing or ad hoc board committee (typically 4-5 virtual meetings). Note: Participation in event committees does not fulfill this requirement, it is in addition to serving on another committee. Choose below.
