JA BizTown
This engaging, hands on program introduces 5th graders to economic concepts, workplace skills, and personal and business finances in a simulated city built for young students.
JA BizTown Inspiring Career Paths Fueling Fascination Empowering Their Future
JA BizTown brings learning to life by immersing fifth-grade students in a simulated town where they run businesses, manage finances, and make real-world decisions. As a volunteer, you’ll guide students through their day, answer questions, and encourage problem-solving. No teaching experience or financial expertise is required. We’ll provide everything you need. Most volunteer shifts are approximately 5 hours at JA World, making it an easy way to make a lasting impact in just one day.
Each year, up to 18,000 fifth grade students in Broward and South Palm Beach Counties visit Junior Achievement of South Florida’s JA BizTown. JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion houses two identical JA BizTowns. Both the Dave and Lorraine Thomas JA BizTown and Falcone Family JA BizTown have 18 public and private storefronts, all sponsored by real local businesses, that help brings the town to life for the students.
