Through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Broward, Junior Achievement of South Florida’s YouthBuild students are gaining valuable hands-on construction experience while developing the teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills that employers value most. By working alongside experienced professionals on active construction sites, students are able to apply what they have learned in a real-world setting while gaining a deeper understanding of the construction industry.
Beyond learning technical skills, students are discovering the importance of collaboration and the impact of working toward a shared purpose. One of the greatest lessons they shared from their time on the build site was that success depends on teamwork. Every task, from framing walls to preparing materials, requires trust, communication, and a willingness to support one another. These experiences not only strengthen their confidence but also teach responsibility, adaptability, and the value of showing up for their team each day.
Programs like YouthBuild prepare young adults for careers in the skilled trades while equipping them with the professional skills that lead to long-term success. As they build homes that will serve local families, they are also building brighter futures for themselves through meaningful work, industry exposure, and career readiness.
We are proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity of Broward to create opportunities that empower students to develop in-demand skills, give back to their community, and take the next step toward successful and rewarding careers.
