As a member of the board, Jacobs will join a group of business and community leaders who provide strategic guidance and support to advance JA’s mission. The organization serves 40,000+ students with the support of more than 5,300 volunteers, focusing on three key pillars—financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness – to promote economic mobility and prepare young people for future success.

“Dustin’s appointment to the Junior Achievement of South Florida Board of Directors is a natural extension of his longstanding commitment to education and our community,” said Biana Murnane, president and CEO of BrightStar Credit Union. “Education has been at the heart of BrightStar since its founding by Broward County educators nearly 80 years ago, and Dustin has played an important role in carrying that legacy forward. His passion for creating opportunities for students and strengthening our community will make him a tremendous asset to Junior Achievement.”

“I’m honored to join the Junior Achievement of South Florida Board of Directors and support an organization whose mission so closely aligns with both my personal values and the work we do at BrightStar,” said Jacobs. “Giving young people access to financial education, career guidance and real-world learning experiences can have a lasting impact on their futures. I look forward to working alongside JA’s leadership and fellow board members to help expand that impact throughout our community.”

As vice president of marketing for BrightStar Credit Union, Jacobs leads the credit union’s marketing, branding, media relations and community relations efforts.
